Depends: Depends on why he is having the semen analysis. For post-vasectomy, we are looking for the number of sperm present and whether or not they are active or inactive (immotile). For infertility work-up, it much more complex. Some things we look at include semen quantity in ml, number of sperm per ml present, activity level of sperm, presence of fructose, etc.
