Arms to short: When you notice that you can't hold things out far enough to see and all the small print is very difficult. Usually starts in your forties to some degree. Depending on your prescription you can use over the counter simple readers or you may need to see your eye doc to get a custom prescription.

Need longer arms: Difficulty reading fine print in your late 30's to early 40's is a sign that you need reading glasses, but it is a good idea to have a checkup with an eyemd to be sure you do not have glaucoma or any other eye conditions that become more common after age 40. Dry eyes tend to become worse after age 40 and that can also lead to blurry tired vision, especially at the computer.
