What's the different between regular and mucopurulent conjunctivitis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

What's regular?: There are several different kinds. Mucopurulent is the gooey kind, usually associated with bacterial conjunctivitis, but almost anything that makes your eye red is conjunctivitis (technically it means inflammation of part of the eye lining). That includes bacteria, viruses, allergies, irritants (i.e. Sand/dust) and chemicals. There's even "giant papillary conjunctivitis.".
