Hormones: If the testosterone level is too high, or if the estrogen level is too low, then you can get excess hair growth. Pcos (poly cystic ovarian syndrome, aka stein leventhal syndrome) is a common example. Underweight women can be low on estrogen and get excess hair growth. It can be treated, call your doctor.
