Pressure: The high pressure that is produced when air gets into pleural space is so great, that it pushes the trachea to the other side.

Two reasons: In a tension pneumothorax, the pressure from the trapped air on one side forces the trachea and remaining lung over to one side. In just a regular pneumothorax, the pressure from the normal side pushes over the collopsed side and the trachea gets pushed with it.
