Difficult to achieve: Thymic carcinoma actually has several different types. Thymoma and thymic carcinoma are not the same. Thymic carcinoma tends to be invasive, and given the anatomic site, it goes around all of the major organs and vessels of the mediastinum and chest.

Surgical resection: Surgical resection for curative intent with negative margins would be the way to go-to cure this disease- off course , if possible to be done. Radiation therapy is given post-op if there is evidence of microscopic/macroscopic cancer. Combination of chemo/radiation is given to treat more locally advance case.
