Not too bad: The results of patients with myasthenia after thymectomy are variable. Most will have less symptoms, some will come off medication and some will have no benefit. Probably about 30% will have no benefit.

Generally small: Thymectomy may be curative. Generally patients may demonstrate 1. Cure, 2. Asymptomatic on medications, 3. Stable symptoms on medications and/or decreased medications. Risk factors for return of mg after surgery may be associated with presence of thymoma at time of surgery and/or incomplete thymectomy. This link may help: http://goo.Gl/3xxmd.
