What needs to be done once the doctors find gastroschisis before delivery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Monitoring: Fetal ultrasounds are performed every 2-4 weeks to watch for problems. During the last 2 months or so tests of fetal well-being are added (nonstress or biophysical profile testing) steroids may be given to mature the baby's lungs if delivery before 34 weeks is anticipated. Delivery should occur at a tertiary center capable of managing the surgery and any other problems the baby may experience.
