Many signs: Some of the first signs are high respiratory rate, high heart rate, confusion, and shivering. People with hypothermia will develop confusion and possibly slurred speech. As hypothermia becomes worse, both heart rate and respiratory rate decrease, and shivering may decrease. People will become very sleepy and may hallucinate. Note that, while common, not all people will have these signs.
