See the details: Travelers to endemic countries staying over 1 month in rural areas are candidates to receive vaccine. The vaccine is given in a 3-dose series; the first two doses are given 1 week apart and the third dose 30 days later. Booster doses are given every 2 years.

Ixiaro: The current vaccine is actually a two dose series available only for those age 17 years and above (though those younger can get if entered into a study). The doses are given 4 weeks apart with the last dose given at least one week before travel into the area of risk. Receiving only one dose is not advised as it gave immunity to only 40% of individuals; two doses are important. See a travel clinic, .
