A member asked:

Acid reflux rebounded after one ounce of neocate mixed with 3 ounces of breast milk. is this normal? how long does it get worse before it gets better (8 week old on neocate for milk protein allergy).

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Vomiting not reflux: If your infant is truly cow's milk protein allergic & tolerated neocate & then vomited when breast milk was added the cause is likely an allergen in your breast milk (bm). Dairy in mom's diet almost always enters bm. This is a normal process & not "leaky gut". It's possible that your infant has other food allergies to other foods in your bm. Common culprits are egg, soy, and wheat.
