No: Although both are breast cancers they are different in the significance attached to them. Lobular carcinoma is more likely to be larger, lymph node positive and estrogen positive then invasive ductal. A study in the ann surg oncol. 2010 jul;17(7):1862-9. Epub 2010 feb 17 suggests that invasive lobular carcinoma has a better prognosis stage for stage than invasive ductal carcinoma.
