Tube in nose : The endotracheal tube is put in through the nose instead of through the mouth. This is done in cases where the surgery being performed would be hindered by having a tube in the mouth. The anesthesiologist decongests the nose vigorously and uses a smaller tube to avoid trauma and bleeding.
