Check your veins: There are several causes for this type of presentation, some of which are serious. You need to get for varicose veins among other things. Because this is one sided, you need to make sure nothing is going on in your pelvis that can block the vein. See your doctor.

Swelling: this is of concern and you should be evaluated to determine why start with a venous doppler sonogram but due to swelling up to hip may need ct scan of abdomen and pelvis to determine if there is a compressive issue
