A member asked:

What do i expect at my first visit to the allergist; what sort of testing?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually skin tests: After a comprehensive history and a physical exam, if indicated by nasal or chest symptoms, you will have skin testing (to determine if you have allergies to inhaled substances, e.g. Pollen, dust, animal danders) and a breathing test if you have chest symptoms. If you have hives or recurrent infections then blood tests will also be ordered.
