How can you tell if you have an allergy to latex gloves?

Dr. Luis Matos answered

Specializes in Pediatric Allergy and Asthma

Symptoms & Testing: Immediate itching or hives when wearing them a short while suggests contact urticaria. Intense itching and/or blisters the next day or hours after wearing gloves suggests contact dermatitis. You would have noticed if you had urticaria/hives/wheezing/ total body itching/ dizziness and and even drop in blood pressure can occur when being around powdered latex gloves when in use. See an allergist.
