Make and Appointment: Frequent and heavy periods is called menometrorrhagia. Among other things, it could be due to hormonal imbalance or the growth of benign fibroids in your uterus. If you have been bleeding heavier and more frequently you are also at risk of having a low blood count (anemia). Best to see an obgyn who can run some labs and imaging tests to figure out what's going on. Best of luck.
