Can you please define hand foot and mouth disease?

Fever + sores: Hand foot and mouth is a viral infection that most commonly affects toddlers in the summer and fall. It causes fever, painful mouth ulcers, and painless spots on the hands and feet. Sometimes there is a more-extensive rash.

Coxsackie virus: Its a virus that can cause blisters in the mouth, on hands and feet. Will go away on its own. Might cause a high temp as well.

A viral infection: Hand-foot-mouth disease is a viral infection that causes fever, blister-like spots in the mouth, and/or a skin rash. Hand-foot-mouth disease is not the foot-and-mouth (or hoof-and-mouth) disease of cattle, sheep, and pigs. The two diseases are not related. They are caused by different viruses. Humans do not get the animal disease, and animals do not get the human disease.

Viral disease: Hand, foot and mouth disease is a human syndrome caused by intestinal viruses of the picornaviridae family. The most common strains causing hfmd are coxsackie a virus and enterovirus 71 (ev-71).There is no specific treatment for hand, foot and mouth disease. Symptoms, such as fever and pain from the sores, may be eased with the use of analgesics. Many doctors do not prescribe medicine for this.
