Family meeting...: In the instances where there's an elderly person who was sick enough to need CPR and the family has questions about prognosis, it's best to have a sit down family meeting with the primary doctor/icu doctor and neurologist to discuss goals of care. On average about 15-18% of people >65 who have CPR survive to hospital discharge. This is serious enough to warrant a family meeting.
