1500-2000 mg/day: At least 1500 mg of calcium per day from foods rich in calcium and supplements. It is also very important to ensure vitamin d levels are kept normal. This will usually require a vitamin d supplements, because steroids cause the body to use up vitamin d much faster than usual.

It depends: In general, it depends on your health issues, especially your kidney function. Ask your doctor. If ok would take 1200-1500 mg of calcium daily divided into 2 doses. Also take 800 iu vitamin d daily. Ask your doctor about checking your bone density and 25 hydroxy- vitamin d level.
