Inflammation : Inguinal lymph nodes enlarge as a result of infection. Lymph nodes are channels that carry immune substances. They enlarge in the presence of infection. People with cellulitis or other types of infections of the lower extremities would also get this condition. If the infection is severe enough it can be bad. You need to be evaluated to determine the reason that you have enlarged lymph nodes.
