Time to call OB/L&D: Seeing flashes of light can be associated with eye problems or high blood pressure. In pregnancy it can be associated with preeclampsia also. At 38 wk or whenever symptoms occur, obs want to be told asap. A physical exam and evaluation of blood pressure and tests can help determine what's occurring. Monitoring of the baby and evaluation of expectant mom on labor and delivery is often recommended.
