A 39-year-old member asked:

Is it possible for nearsightedness to become farsightedness?

Yes: Though uncommon, there are ways for someone to change from near to far-sightedness. The most common way is from natural aging (growth of eye) and from cataract development (change in lens power). Other possibilities include laser vision, trauma, corneal scarring, refractive lens exchange, corneal ectasia, and retinal pathology.

Sure it is: But it shouldnt be a big difference between the two eyes unless you had eye surgery or have an ocular condition. In some patients we even give them this result intentionally. Take care.
A 34-year-old member asked:

I was nearsighted and also a little farsighted. Is that even possible?

Yes: It is possible to have some distance vision and some near vision and still need glasses to get your best corrected vision. These terms are confusing and really just refer to where the light focuses on the retina. Also losing reading vision after 40 yrs of age is a separate problem called presbyopia. This sometimes gets confused with the other issues.
