My 9m/old daughter was diagnosed w/ glaucoma and has a portwine stain on her left cheek. can she get that removed now? or does she need to be older?

Portwine stain: Lasers have made the biggest impact on treatment, because they are the sole method of destroying the cutaneous capillaries without significant damage to the overlying skin. She is not to young to be treated with the laser. Pulsed-dye laser is the treatment of choice.

Yes: Port-wine stain, is a vascular lesion that will not go away with time or aging. Treatments vary depending on the classification. Infants and children can and are successfully treated. Please see a trained plastic (facial)surgeon and or dermatologist.

Can start: These take time and at this age she would likely need to be put to sleep during the procedure. The laser treatments are done in sessions defined by the extent/location and depth of the lesion. Once you start, sessions are spread out over months that include a recuperative period and will likely take at least a year and more.
