A member asked:

Is a positive for rubella antibody to be positive but you still get it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rubella antibodies: Ob's routinely screen for issues that may cause problems for your pregnancies. German measles ( rubella) is a brief illness that is known to cause miscarriage, fetal damage ( deafness, blindness, major organ damage). Ob's want to know if you (& baby) are at risk of this problem so they can plan accordingly. If you have antibody it means you and baby are not at risk.
