OSA: These are symptoms related with osa (obstructive sleep apnea) which is sometimes related with overweight and obesity or some throat and nose anatomical problems. You should see your primary care physician and if you qualify have a sleep study done for diagnosis. It is very important to find out because this disorder is related with heart problems that can develop with time if leave it untreated.

Sleep Apnea: The conditions you have described are consistent with someone who might suffer from obstructive sleep apnea. Excess daytime sleepiness, and gasping for air during sleep are common symptoms. Consider a sleep study to confirm and measure this. Your primary care physician can help arrange it.
