Fluids, insulin: Iv fluids is used to dilute the excess sugar and promote increased urination. Insulin is also used to reduce the level of sugar in the blood. Hyperglycemia must be corrected slowly and with close monitoring because several minerals are affected by the correction. Rapid correction can also lead to adverse effects on the brain.

Hyperglycemia--: Hyperglycemia is the major feature of diabetes. If you are older with an "apple" build, the best treatment is to debride your diet of simple starches and sugar, and the best medicine id metformin, which will lower serum insulin, because it erases the main problem, Insulin resistance, the cause of vmetabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes! Insulin is the last resort!
