A member asked:

What are the side effects of taking several multivitamin and minerals with iron?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Overdose: Certain vitamins & minerals, including iron, can become toxic if you consistently take much more than your body needs. One multivitamin is usually sufficient for most healthy people. Men & women who don't menstruate shouldn't take iron supplement unless specifically instructed under dr's care. Some supplements can interfere with absorption of others, so consult w/ practitioner if using several.
