Are bananas safe to eat if you have gestational diabetes?

Yes: "carbs" are ok, and fruits often have sugars in them. The important issue is that you wok with a dietician and eat a balanced diet. The sugars and carbs are not "bad", and in fact, are important. However, too many carbs is bad.

High Carb: Bananas are not the best for glycemic index. About 25 g of carb, about twice that of an apple.
