At least 6 weeks: We usually say about 6 weeks, but healing continues even after that. Only your doctor will be able to clear you for activities based on how you are healing and what specifically was done.

Weeks: Surgical healing depends upon what was done (what was removed) and how it was done (size of incision). Knowing only 1/2 of this, i can generalize and say that most people with a 2-3" abdominal incision will need narcotic pain medicine for less than a week, return to work in 2-3 weeks, and be 100% in~6 wks. Of course, the true expert to answer this question is your surgeon. I hope this helps.
