1 day: On the evening of surgery, you will have help standing and possibly walking. By the next day, your Foley catheter will come out and you will be able to walk to the bathroom by yourself. You will feel incisional pain and may find yourself hunching over a bit for the first week. Walking early and often is important to prevent clots in the veins.
