Depends: Not all acupuncturist and nds are equally effective, and the same can be said about all disciplines. Just as some mds have a great bedside manner, while some have contempt for patients who ask questions, or who question their answers.

Can be beneficial: Both have their place. Some medical problems are best addressed using standard western medical approaches. For instance - for a broken bone seeing an orthopedic surgeon makes sense. There are some conditions which are particulary well treated through acupuncture. I am an acupuncturist & have seen it's wonders. Your physician can advise what type of treatment is appropriate for your condition.

Mixed feeling: Naturopaths mostly survive by debunking conventional doctors and make money selling unregulated and untested potions of dubious merit. Save your money. Acupuncture has some merit and there are clinical trials documenting the value in certain conditions.
