Last resort: Cyclosporine is an effective treatment for psoriasis - but it is usually used only when all else has failed, because it is toxic to the liver and kidneys, among other things, and weakens the immune system. It should never be taken without close monitoring by an expert in its use for that purpose (usually a dermatologist).
