Symptom Relief: Loxapine is used to treat the symptoms of schizophrenia (a mental illness that causes disturbed or unusual thinking, loss of interest in life, and strong or inappropriate emotions). For certain individuals this medication offers a highly effective treatment for their symptoms of schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is an incurable mental disorder.

No: Loxapine is a first generation antipsychotic medication used to control the psychotic symptoms as seen in schizophrenia. Sadly, there are no real "cures" rather, the medication controls the symptoms as long as the person continues to take the medication. If or when the person stops the medications, the symptoms re-occur. Schizophrenia is a chronic illness with no cure but with effective treatment.

Schizophrenia cure: Medications stabilize symptoms, and eventually lead to the maintenance phase from the acute phases, however, relapses are possible & cure is not existent.
