Yes: It's not 100% but their lifetime risk is higher than the average population. They should be instilled with healthy habits which can redue their risk. Regular exercise and a healthy diet!

Yes: If your husband has type one diabetes, then your children have a 1 in 20 chance of getting type one diabetes. The populations overall risk is one in 300.
