Opinions differ: There are multiple organizations that give different answer for this topic. Nearly all of them given a number well under the us average intake. Many of the organizations recommend 100 meq/day, which is equal to 2.3g (2300mg) of sodium or 6g (6000mg) of sodium chloride.
