Painful lesions: The symptoms vary. Some people have very mild to no symptoms, while others have redness and fluid filled blisters that are painful and burn. Sometimes there is tingling or burning in the area before the blisters appear. If you think you have an outbreak and it's your first time, get checked out asap by your primary doc, because initial treatment makes subsequent outbreaks less frequent.
