Not necessarily: According to the cdc the rates of genital herpes have remained stable over the last decade following declines in the 90s. It is estimated that 1 in 6 americans between 14-49 have genital herpes with the highest rate among african american women (up to 48%). The more sexual partners you have the more likely you are to contract it. http://www.cdc.gov/std/herpes/herpes-nhanes-2010.htm.
