No symptoms?: Pre diabetes suggest insuln resistance, your blood sugar maybe a little elevated with no symptoms. It's a sign to really pull back on the carbs, exercise, lose weight. Good luck!

Definition: People with prediabetes have blood sugar levels higher than normal but lower than in diabetes. They have an elevated risk of developing diabetes, and also appear to have an elevated risk of certain diabetic-type complications such as heart attack.

99 vs 126: By definition, a fasting plasma glucose over 126 on two separate days is confirmed diabetes. A fasting plasma glucose over 99 is pre-diabetes.

Diabetes: As we know, pre-diabetes can evolve into diabetes over time. But conceptually we do not say that diabetes goes into pre-diabetes. We normally would say that diabetes is improved or controlled or partially controlled.

Possible but...: Basic science re prediabetes vs diabetes:
Prediabetes; Hemoglobin A1C level 5.7 to 6.4, Diabetes 6.5 and above. However, individual lacking clear symptoms of diabetes, should have a repeat test on a different day using the A1C test or other diabetes tests, e.g., fasting blood glucose or oral glucose tolerance test to confirm the diagnosis.

You are welcome to start over. A common screening test for pre-diabetes is a hemoglobin A1C. Your doc can order it for you.
