A member asked:

Can i breastfeed if i am taking thyroid replacement therapy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Absolutely: If your thyroid lab test are in the normal range on your replacement therapy; there is no reason for concern. Your doctor and you must also consider any thyroid symptoms like feeling cold, depression, fast heart rate, thinning hair, nervoussness in the equation; as hormones do change with pregnancy. If you have normal thyroid function on labs and normal thyroid symptoms you are fine to breastfeed.
