Why is my baby's reflux persisting?

Needs time: Reflux is a condition that children must outgrow. I usually tell parents that if you do nothing they will outgrow it by a year. Once you introduce food it often improves. It can worsen between 6-8 months as the child gets more mobile and "shakes himself up" with crawling. I have had great success with chinese medicine helping reflux. Check in your area for practitioners.

Can persist for yrs: Reflux by itself is with us thru out life. If you can burp/belch/spit up then you reflux. Reflux disorder or disease implies important negatives:pain, weight loss, etc. Upright posture after meals helps most of us avoid sx. As long as babies feed often and lay flat, gravity is not helping keep the food down & they may have sx. I've had a rare baby on meds until 4y, most are off by 6-9mo.
