Depends: If the gray spot is on the white of the eye about half way from the colored part (iris) to the inner corner, it could just be thinning of the white part (sclera) due to age. It is not serious and wil not cause any problem. To answer your question better, i really need to know exactly where the gray spot is.

Gray eye spot: The most common cause of a gray eye spot as we age is senile scleral plaques. They are benign and do not cause any problems.
