A member asked:

My finger is swollen, painful, and warm to the touch. i think it may be infected but there is no visable wound. how can i home treat this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Finger pain: Your pain may be due to an infection under the skin or nail bed called a paronychia -- start with warm soaks and see your doctor to see if antibiotics or incision and drainage are necessary. If you have any redness or streaking into the hand/wrist/arm, see your doctor asap or go to the er.
