Not for certain: Palmar erythema is seen in two-thirds of pregnancies during the first trimester and resolves postpartum. It is also seen in conditions such as lupus erythematosus, hepatic cirrhosis, and hyperthyroidism, increased estrogen levels during pregnancy may be a potential cause.
