Hard to say/growing.: This number is hard to determine, but it is certainly growing due to the advances in medicine. However, it is estimated by the sun-sentinel (fort lauderdale, florida). 22 january 2009. In their article "cancer survivors face psychological challenges that about 11 million americans alive today—one in 30 people–are either currently undergoing treatment for cancer or have done so in the past.
