A member asked:

My free t3 level should be checked how often if i am on synthroid (thyroxine)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Never: In hypothyroidism, the TSH is the best indicator of whether you are on an adequate dose of medication. Checking T3 (liothyronine) is generally only useful in patients whose thyroid is overactive.
