Does anyone have a cure for coughing spasms?

Reason for cough?: Check with your doctor before you start purchasing otc medications or go with homeopathic/herbal or other concoctions. Cough could be post nasal drip mucus (upper respiratory) versus cough-wheezing (lower-asthma-bronchitis). Give a good history of when it began, what times of day are worse, associated symptoms, what you have given.
