YES!!: If you mean to start Buprenorphine instead of Methadone then i think it is a great and better and easier choice. If you mean to change over from methadone, still good idea but the Methadone has a very long half life so you have to taper and detox first which can be tough.

Yes: if you are a heavy opiate user then sometimes its preferable to start with methadone then once its reduced a bit to switch to buprenorphine. that said, buprenorphine is a heck of a lot more convenient than your typical methadone clinic. also, please use your motivation to quickly get off Suboxone - relapse rates are virtually the same for people with 28d tapers versus 90d+ tapers.
