A member asked:

What is amantadine?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Duel Purpose: Amantadine is a medication approved to treat the flu and is used as an anti-parkinson agent. There are a number of psychiatric side effects including psychosis, suicidal ideation, depression, anxiety, hallucinations and confusion. Recent evidence suggests it is not as effective as previously reported in the treatment of the flu or in reducing Parkinson's symptoms.
