A member asked:

Can zinc oxide be used on jock itch?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No.: Zinc oxide ointment has no active ingredients in it that would kill the dermatophyte (fungus) that causes jock itch. However, it might be useful as a preventative, by decreasing the chafing and friction that often leads to jock itch.
